Maersk VR/XR

The Maersk Triple E-class container vessels comprise a family of very large container ships of more than 18,000 TEU. “Triple E” is derived from the class’s three design principles: “Economy of scale, Energy-efficient and Environmentally friendly”.

CLIENT CHALLENGES:

MAERSK has a large global employee workforce who are proud of the “EEE” but have never visited a port or ship. Employees are limited in understanding the lifecycle of a container ship process from empty status to loading, in transit, and also all other terminal operations, such as loading-unloading of containers.

Providing training and terminal safety training with higher engagement and retention rates could provide crucial benefits to assure safe operations in the shipping industry for MAERSK.
Training through a virtual medium will result in better engagement of employees and a higher knowledge retention rate resulting in an immersive learning experience.

MONOLITH SOLUTIONS:

Immersive solutions delivered an effective medium for training by providing a large physical setting with a “close to reality” experience. Training programs can be viewed offline and assist learners in achieving a better understanding through immersive learning for the employees.

Monolith created a 360° audio-guided VR ship tour of the EEE environment. The narrative is storied as the life of a ship that carries a million dreams. The ship has been personified for better emotional engagement of the viewers, providing an accompanied learning experience.
